Eugene Levine is often referred as the Grand Daddy of the printing industry, having had a successful print business which he sold in 1980 he turned his attention to print supplies and it was only a matter of time before he took the step in to machine sales, Eugene has an in depth knowledge of the print industry supplying both Web, sheet fed Litho and finishing equipment. Although they say that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, Eugene realised that the litho market was changing and he could see that the Digital was growing, wide format digital is still in its infancy and Eugene was determined to break into the market.
Eugene says, “when my son Marcus came to me to say he had been offered the UK agency for the SUN LED UV digital wide format machine. I could immediately see the potential for this new technology. Such a versatile machine would have wide appeal and at a competitive price.” There were as you can imagine quite a number of high profile companies chasing the agency but as Eugene says, “if you can’t first sell yourself how can you expect to sell the equipment.”
Marcus, Eugene’s son has been working with Eugene for twenty years and comes from the field of design and marketing. Handling the companies profile as well as sales.
Both Eugene and Marcus realise that even though their WFD press offers something that just can’t be found in competitors machines, the most important issue for any company is the knowledge that they are dealing with a professional organisation that appreciate the need for providing a professional after sales service with quick call out response and with a UK parts department.
Marcus says “I just can’t fault the LED Technology and SUN llc is a fantastic company to deal with they are both a manufacturer of press’s and the inks which work both with LED technology and normal UV lamps. When we first entered into negotiations they did not have flexible inks. But now they have developed the flexible inks and we can see that this company is very much led by design and innovation. My only negative is the Evolution is not the fastest printer, but as it is cutting edge in every other respect, it is a small price to pay for such versatility.”
“We can see great things to come from SUN llc and we think we have a fantastic range of products.” Those with vision to buy the first machines will place themselves at the forefront of more diverse printing and lead the way in expanding the WFD market.
